Damp & Mould Action and Awareness Week
Damp & Mould Action and Awareness Week (21–25 October 2025) shines a spotlight on the importance of tackling damp and mould in homes — an issue that continues to affect the health and wellbeing of many residents across the UK. This year’s campaign takes on even greater significance as social landlords prepare for the introduction of Awaab’s Law on 27 October 2025.
Named in memory of two-year-old Awaab Ishak, who tragically lost his life in 2020 due to prolonged exposure to mould, Awaab’s Law places a new legal duty on social landlords to take prompt action to investigate and resolve damp and mould issues within strict timeframes. The aim is to ensure that no one ever has to live in conditions that endanger their health or safety.
At Efficiency North, we fully support this important campaign and remain committed to raising awareness and helping social landlords take effective action to improve housing quality. Since 2023 our charity EN:Able Communities has worked with Efficiency North’s members and contractors to deliver training workshops tailored to the needs of tenants, residents and staff.
Our Damp, Condensation and Mould awareness workshops provide practical knowledge and advice to help social housing residents and stff identify, prevent and manage common issues in their homes. Through interactive sessions, residents learn about the causes of damp and mould, how to reduce condensation, and effective ways to maintain a healthier living environment.
Together, we can create safer, healthier homes for everyone.
