Charity auction returns to raise funds for Neonatal Unit

York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity is excited to announce the return of its annual online auction. Taking place from 17 -30 November, the auction offers the chance to bid on a range of fantastic prizes, from luxury holidays and fine dining experiences to indulgent afternoon teas and fun-filled family days out. The charity is looking for local businesses to support the auction with further prize donations and sponsorship.

This year, all the money raised will go towards supporting the refurbishment of the Neonatal Unit at York Hospital. The unit provides vital care to some of our smallest patients, and we’re committed to making it a more comfortable and supportive space for families during what can be an incredibly difficult time. The charity is launching an appeal to raise £100,000 towards this project, funding things like:

• Height-adjustable cots to support mothers post-C-section and avoid them straining to pick their baby up.
• Comfortable furniture so parents can be at their baby’s side.
• Therapeutic skylights to create a less clinical and more comfortable environment for families.

The equipment and environmental upgrades will make such a difference to the patient and family experience.
