Brides for a Cause: York Against Cancer to hold a pre-loved wedding dress sale  

York Against Cancer are holding a pre-loved wedding dress sale on Sunday 1st March. The sale will take place The Leveson Centre, York Against Cancer’s cancer support centre at York Community Stadium, from 10am-4pm.

Through the event, the charity hope to help cut the costs of weddings for brides to be, providing beautiful gowns, without the retail price.

Dresses have been kindly donated by individuals and businesses across the region, who hope to give gorgeous gowns a new life. Treasured Brides, a bridal boutique in Angram, has donated 12 sample dresses to the sale, whcih retail between £1,500 and £2,900.

During the event, a representative from MAC will be available to provide lip demos, and book in brides for their wedding make-up tutorials. There will also be a wedding stylist available to help brides try on any dress that catches their eye.

All proceeds from the event will go to YorK Against Cancer. York Against Cancer is an independent charity helping people in York, North and East Yorkshire affected by cancer. They provide a range of support services for cancer patients and their loved ones, including a free minibus that takes people from York to St. James’s Hospital in Leeds for radiotherapy appointments, free short breaks in two luxury respite properties for cancer patients and their loved ones to take time away, an award-winning mobile chemotherapy unit, free, tailored exercise classes for cancer patients and a cancer support centre, The Leveson Centre.

York Against Cancer said: “We’re thrilled to be hosting Brides for a Cause in our cancer support centre, The Leveson Centre, on Sunday 1st March. We know that weddings can be incredibly expensive. Through this event, we hope to help reduce the cost of a dress for brides to be, whilst also raising vital funds for the charity. We hope to see you there!”
