Dame Judi Dench urges people to support York Against Cancer through the “Quintessentially Bond” auction
Dame Judi Dench has urged people to support York Against Cancer by taking part in the ‘Quintessentially Bond’ auction.
The timed online auction is being run by MovieManiaOnline. The company sell film memorabilia through their own auction platform and website, and has cabinets in The Antique Centre in York. Each year they sell a series of Lots where 100% of the Hammer price, plus the Buyers Premium, are donated to a charity. This year, they are supporting York Against Cancer with the ‘Quintessentially Bond’ auction, a perfect theme for York Against Cancer and its patron, Dame Judy Dench.
Dame Judi Dench, who starred as ‘M’ in the Bond franchise, is a “proud patron of York Against Cancer.” The charity supports people affected by cancer across York, North and East Yorkshire through a range of different support services, including a free minibus that takes people from York to St. James’s Hospital in Leeds for radiotherapy appointments, two luxury respite properties offering free short breaks away for cancer patients and their loved ones, an award-winning mobile chemotherapy unit, and a cancer support centre, The Leveson Centre, located at York Community Stadium.
There will be more than 25 amazing Lots of James Bond Memorabilia & Experiences on offer in the Auction, that will last for two weeks. Bidders will be able to follow in the heroic footsteps of Pierce Brosnan in The World is Not Enough by ascending the O2, ride the iconic Aston Martin like Sean Connery did in Goldfinger, or bid on some of the Original Props & Artefacts used in the James Bond Films. There will be something for every lover of Bond.
Bidding opens on Sunday 8th March at 13:00pm GMT and closes on Sunday 22nd March 2026 from 13:00pm GMT.
