TWC Facilities teams up with Tackle Prostate Cancer to boost awareness and support
TWC Facilities Ltd has partnered with Tackle Prostate Cancer, a UK charity that supports people affected by prostate cancer.
As part of this, QR code stickers are being added to male hygiene bins across the sites TWC Facilities looks after. It’s a small, practical step that gives people quick and discreet access to information about local support groups.
Raising awareness in everyday places
Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men and trans-women every year, and the risk is doubled for men from black communities. Despite this, many people aren’t sure where to go for help. By placing information in private, everyday spaces like washrooms, TWC Facilities hopes to make support easier to find for those who might not otherwise look for it.
Helping people find the right support
Through Tackle Prostate Cancer, users can find local groups offering:
- The chance to talk to others who understand
- Shared experiences from people who have been through similar journeys
- A safe, welcoming space to talk and listen
- Ongoing peer support during and after treatment
More than just washrooms
For TWC Facilities, it’s not just about keeping spaces clean and maintained, it’s about looking after the people who use them too.
Martin Williams, Director at TWC Facilities, said “This is a simple idea, but it can make a real difference. If it helps even one person find the support they need, it’s worth doing.”
Tackle Prostate Cancer added, “We’re delighted to be working with TWC Facilities on this initiative. It’s a great example of how small, thoughtful changes can help more people find the support they need. We hope this will encourage more visitors to access our website and find their nearest support group.”
