Bradford Garden Centre to host free houseplant advice session
A Bradford garden centre is hosting a free drop-in session for customers to get expert houseplant advice.
Gardeners’ World Live presenter Joe Bagley will be in the houseplant department at Tong Garden Centre from 12 pm on Saturday, 25th March to give advice and answer questions about houseplants.
“More people are interested in indoor gardening than ever before, and houseplants are growing in popularity because of their ability to help accessorise indoor spaces and improve air quality, ” said self-styled houseplant doctor Bagley.
“I’ll be on hand to advise people on the best houseplants to suit their homes and lifestyle and suggest the best rooms to keep them in. People are also welcome to bring photos of their houseplants to the session. I’ll be able to diagnose any problems they may have and give hints and tips to keep them in peak condition.”
“Joe’s houseplant expertise has earned him two appearances on Gardeners’ World and a regular slot on BBC Radio Leicester, so we’re looking forward to welcoming him to the ever-growing houseplant area at Tong,” said Tong’s indoor plant buyer, Jane Day.
The free drop-in plant clinic follows a sellout Terrarium Workshop with Joe Bagley in the Mezzanine Restaurant in the morning.
Tong Garden Centre occupies a 19-acre site in Tong village. It is one of Yorkshire’s biggest independent garden centres, with 11,600m2 of retail space and parking for up to 700 cars. It is part of the Yorkshire Garden Centres (YGC) group that also owns Tingley Garden Centre and the former Stephen H Smith’s Garden Centres in Otley and Harden, Bingley, renamed Otley and Bingley Garden Centres, respectively.
Mr Bagley is Leicester-born and has been a keen gardener from a young age. Growing his first houseplants in 2013, he established his brand, UK Houseplants, in 2018.
