Award-winning School of Management still tops the list

The University of Bradford’s award-winning School of Management, one of the top business schools in the world and one of only a handful to hold ‘triple accreditation’ from EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA, has been praised for equipping students with job-ready skills.

It is one of the oldest business schools in the country and remains one of the most respected globally. Its Distance Learning MBA was ranked 1st for value for money by the Financial Times in 2024. In 2023, the School was also ranked in the top 25 in Europe for the number of start-up companies created by graduates.”

Enterprise

In January 2024, the University launched the £2.5 million Bradford-Renduchintala Enterprise Ecosystem, a one-stop shop for entrepreneurs to take business ideas from concept to market – a year on, it is already supporting 35 start-ups.

AI

Earlier this month, the University won praise for its commitment to AI. Speaking to Insider Media, Emma Suchland, PriceWaterhouseCooper (PwC)’s new Regional Market Lead for the North, said: “I hadn’t fully appreciated the depth of skills coming out of the University of Bradford. Its AI skills are already important and will only become more so in the future. In the context of competitiveness and employment costs, upskilling teams and our clients to use AI to deliver more at pace is going to be a real advantage.”

In March this year, the University will have awarded 140 £10,000 scholarships for its MSc in Data Analytics and AI, providing graduates with job-ready skills.

Student opportunities

In August 2024, the School of Management was recognised for its work with small businesses and creating opportunities for students when it was awarded Small Business Charter status (until 2029).

Business and management

Its business and management programmes are geared towards teaching students how to be successful in business, offering commercial awareness and industry insight, not to mention the chance to gain practical skills to stand out from the crowd in various business and management roles.

Take a look at some of the courses on offer in the following subject areas:

Case studies

Lisa Varley

Lisa Varley graduated with a BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance in July 2024, after securing a place through Clearing. Now self-employed, she said: “I have always found the university more than meets expectations and I think it’s what you make it. I have met so many interesting people who I would never have otherwise met.”

Asghar Ali (MyLahore)

MyLahore co-founders Ishfaq Farooq, Asghar Ali and Shakoor Ahmed were each awarded Outstanding Contribution Awards in December 2024, after founding the successful MyLahore restaurant chain.

Ishfaq, 38, who studied Business Management at the University, said: “Sitting there as a student at my own graduation, I never imagined that one day I’d be honoured in this way. My message to graduates today is simple: believe in your vision, work hard and embrace the opportunities ahead.”
