Bank of England expert to reveal financial outlook for Yorkshire at Leeds Beckett University lecture

For over 20 years, Leeds Business School has presented this key lecture in the region’s business calendar.

Alex Golledge, who is the bank’s Agent for Yorkshire and Humber, will give an update on the performance of the economy and outline expectations for the months ahead to local business leaders, professionals, and students at the university’s annual Bank of England lecture on Thursday 8 February at 09.00.

Alex will take questions on a variety of key financial and economic issues at the event, which will follow the release of the Bank of England’s quarterly forecast.

Head of the Retail Institute at Leeds Beckett University, Olga Munroe, will be asking Alex questions from the audience on the day.
Speaking about the lecture, Olga said: “With the amount of uncertainty currently, it is so important for businesses to understand as much as they can about the current landscape.

“Our role as a university is not just to equip local businesses with a skilled workforce, but to provide the information and insights they need to make informed decisions about their future, particularly when dealing with the challenges posed over the past few years.

“This is an opportunity for those involved in local business to put their questions to a key figure from the organisation that dictates financial policy for our local and national economy.”
