Bradford based structural engineers Empace expands with recent appointment in London and attains ISO certification.

Empace Civil and Structural engineers, based in Bradford West Yorkshire appoints new partner Richard Colley to head their London practice as the firm continues to grow since its inception in December 2016.

The recent attainment of ISO certifications in ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 have put the company on equal footing with some of the larger practices in terms of the quality of their work.

Empace specialise in building projects and have a portfolio of interesting work including Pennine House located opposite the Broadway shopping centre. This is where the radio station Pulse 1 was originally based (known as Pennine radio at the time). Empace assisted the developers with structural engineering services to bring the building back into use as high-end apartments, now known as ’The Lofts’.

The practice was founded by Ummer Daraz. Ummer moved to London in 2012 to study at Imperial College London for his masters after graduating at the University of Bradford with a first class degree in Structural Engineering. After a number of years working in central London, he came back to Bradford to set up the practice.

In response to the recent developments, Ummer expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are over the moon with the recent developments at Empace as we continue to grow and win exciting new commissions. With experience both in the North and indeed in prime central London, we are well placed to deliver excellent premium level work.”
