Bradford Garden Centre relaunches its butchery offering
A Bradford garden centre has relaunched its butchery offering following feedback from customers.
Hearty’s Food Hall at Tong Garden Centre has introduced a new butchery department in partnership with East Yorkshire-based Yorkshire Wold butchery.
Yorkshire Wold’s MD, Christopher Smith, is excited by the opportunity: “This is our first retail partnership, and we’re delighted to be working with the Hearty’s team, who share our passion for provenance and excellence. We’re looking forward to getting to know the customers and being able to advise them about cuts of meat, recipe ideas and cooking instructions.”
Yorkshire Wold will also supply its quality produce to the nine restaurants across Tong’s parent company, Yorkshire Garden Centres’ four sites.
Of the change, Yorkshire Garden Centres’ Head of Food, Sarah Dwyer, said: “We’re very excited to team up with Yorkshire Wold butchery both within Hearty’s at Tong and group-wide in our restaurants. We look forward to delighting our customers with great value, high-quality local produce combined with the return of the popular multibuys.”
Tong Garden Centre occupies a 19-acre site in Tong village. It is one of Yorkshire’s biggest independent garden centres, with 11,600m2 of retail space and parking for up to 700 cars. It is part of the Yorkshire Garden Centres (YGC) group that also owns Tingley Garden Centre and the former Stephen H Smith’s Garden Centres in Otley and Harden, Bingley, renamed Otley and Bingley Garden Centres, respectively.
