Bradford Hospitals Charity secures The Broadway’s Charity of the Year

Bradford Hospitals Charity has been named The Broadway Bradford’s ‘Charity of the Year’, following an enthusiastic public vote which saw the charity secure almost 700 votes.

The shopping centre invited the public to choose which local good cause should receive year‑long support. While all nominated charities were worthy contenders, Bradford Hospitals Charity topped the poll in recognition of its work supporting patients, families and staff across Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Broadway will host its first fundraising event for the charity – a Teddy Bear Health Check – on Saturday 21 February, 11am until 5pm. Children can bring their favourite teddy for a “check‑up” and meet the charity team and mascot, Baggins the Bear. There will also be other fun activities to join throughout the day, including colouring, a teddy bear tombola and lucky dip.

Thanks to its supporters, volunteers and partners, Bradford Hospitals Charity goes beyond what the NHS can fund – bringing the human side of care to life and helping patients and families through every step of their hospital journey. They charity upgrades medical equipment, improves patient environments, and supports staff wellbeing. Its latest focus is building a £3 million ‘Home from Home’, accommodation for families beside Bradford’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
