Brand new networking group hosts inaugural event in Cross Hills

Last Thursday, two Cross Hills business joined ranks to hold their first networking event for local businesses. The breakfast meeting was met with great enthusiasm by those who attended and the organisers hope it will become a regular event.

IT support and services firm, Comprendo IT, and property management agency, Macaulay & Co, both situated on Cross Hills Main Street, teamed up to organise an informal networking session for local businesses to meet, swap ideas and support each other.

The event, held at Macaulay & Co’s newly renovated office, hosted twenty two businesses, charities and educational establishments, including specialists from PR, marketing, hospitality and health & wellbeing.

Sara Haggas, Sales & Marketing Manager at Comprendo IT said, ‘’Cross Hills has such a thriving business community so Macaulay [Managing Director of Macaulay & Co] and I thought it would be a great opportunity for local businesses to get to know each other and find out what they could do to help each other. Interest from the local business community for the ideas was amazing and the feedback from the event has been extremely positive.’’

Comprendo IT is a relative newcomer to Cross Hills and was previously based in Skipton where the business began trading in 2008. Run by director, Daniel Hildred, the growing business provides managed IT services and IT support to a range of businesses throughout Yorkshire and beyond.

Macaulay & Co is new to Cross Hills as of last summer, and is a new independent, family-run business specialising in the letting and management of residential and commercial properties, in addition to block and estate management across Craven, Pendle, and the Aire Valley.

Raymond McCaughan of Skipton’s Horizon Health Clinics, who attended the networking event last Thursday, said, ‘’In the current climate of change, uncertainty and higher taxes, meeting people today who are pushing forwards, expanding their horizons with such energy, is honestly inspiring.’’
