BSc Digital and Technology Solutions

I’m contacting you from the School of the Built Environment, Engineering and Computing at Leeds Beckett University to let you know we have a new exciting opportunity for staff from regional SME’s to train with us from September 2025.

Here at Leeds Beckett’s School of the Built Environment, Engineering and Computing, our new BSc Digital and Technology Solutions degree apprenticeship offers organisations the opportunity this year to support colleagues wanting to further develop their IT and digital careers, offering specialisms in Software Engineering, Cyber Security and Data Analysis.

Our course has been developed in line with the requirements of the Tech Industry Gold Degree Apprenticeship Standard’ of TechSkills. Apprentices develop practical skills and knowledge in software engineering, data systems and management, machine learning and cyber security, with a chance to specialise further in their final year.

Benefits to businesses in the region:
  • Meet the unique needs of the organisation– degree apprentices can access world class university research and facilities alongside developing specialist knowledge and competencies demanded by specialist IT and digital roles in an increasingly digital world.
  • An opportunity to upskill colleagues using the UK Government’s Apprenticeship Levy. This means that organisations with a wage bill in excess of £3 million can fully fund the course fees by using their Apprenticeship Levy.  Organisations that do not pay into the Levy contribute just 5% of the total course fee.
  • Increase productivity and competitivenesswith access to the latest techniques, technology and cutting-edge facilities, your Apprentices can bring the learnings back and put them into practice within to your workplace.
  • Fill higher-level skills efficiently and effectively by tailoring the learning to your staff, working with a local university.
  • Develop existing staff and increase motivation and retention. Degree Apprenticeships are a fantastic and cost-effective way to further develop colleagues professionally; sharpening their skills, broadening their knowledge and offering networking and extracurricular activities. Investment and commitment to supporting a Degree Apprenticeship can enhance employee motivation and retention.
