Castle Howard continues collaboration with Yorkshire Bake Off star Freya Cox, announcing autumnal cake and book signing event

• Castle Howard continues their partnership with Great British Bake Off star Freya Cox on
seasonal vegan bakes available in their shops and cafes
• The third cake in the series, an autumnal Double Chocolate Muffin with Toasted White
Chocolate Marshmallows, will be available in Castle Howard’s Coffee Shop and Courtyard
Café from 3rd October 2023

October 31st

Iconic Yorkshire stately home Castle Howard has partnered with popular vegan baker, writer, and Great
British Bake-Off star Freya Cox, to create three seasonal cakes celebrating plant-based produce.
Freya has collaborated with Castle Howard’s Head Chef, Nathan Richardson-Kelly, on three tasty treats
across the year. The final cake in the 2023 series is a Double Chocolate Muffin with Toasted White
Chocolate Marshmallows. The first cake was a miniature Black Forest Gateau, and the second a Summer
Raspberry and Vanilla Kiss.
To celebrate the partnership, Freya will be visiting the Castle Howard Farm Shop on the 31st October
from 1pm to 3pm, to sign copies of her recipe book Simply Vegan Baking and meet and greet Castle
Howard visitors. Visitors can try a free Double Chocolate Muffin with Toasted White Chocolate Marshmallows with
every Simply Vegan Baking purchase.
Luke Butler, Head of Food and Beverage at Castle Howard, said: ‘We’re thrilled to have worked with Freya to
expand our vegan offering here at Castle Howard, with a delicious option every season. It’s been a wonderful opportunity to
create new plant-based treats for our visitors, and we’re delighted with their popularity. The Double Chocolate Muffin with
Toasted White Chocolate Marshmallows is autumnal and comforting, and we’ve sourced the vegan ingredients from local
suppliers.’

beautiful cake in a beautiful place that means a lot to me and my family. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone on the
31st!’
The Double Chocolate Muffin with Toasted White Chocolate Marshmallows is available to purchase in
Castle Howard’s Coffee Shop, Courtyard Café and Boathouse Café from 3rd October, 2023.
