Chadwick Lawrence donates £2,500 to support a number of initiatives this Ramadan

Law firm Chadwick Lawrence Solicitors has donated £2,500 to a number of initiatives over Ramadan, as part of its ongoing charitable work.

The firm held an Iftar at its Leeds office on 5th March, bringing together colleagues from across its eight West Yorkshire offices to break the fast at sunset.

Open to colleagues of all faiths and backgrounds, the annual Iftar provided an opportunity to reflect on the significance of the holy month while supporting those in need. A number of colleagues kept a fast for the day in support and solidarity for their Muslim colleagues, who will be keeping a fast for the whole month.

The Iftar is just one of several charitable initiatives led by Chadwick Lawrence partner Asma Iqbal throughout Ramadan.

At the start of Ramadan in February, the firm sponsored Asma’s family on a humanitarian deployment to Jordan in support of Islamic Help Mission.

The family raised more than £22,000, visiting six Syrian and Palestinian refugee camps to distribute food packs, cash donations, Eid clothing, activity packs and hygiene gifts to orphans and widows. They also supported the renovation of an educational centre that will provide free schooling for children in the camps.

This year marks the firm’s second year supporting The Citizens Foundation, a UK-based charity that provides education to underprivileged children in Pakistan’s urban and rural slums. The funds donated will support children through education, giving them access to essential learning resources and equipment.

It has also made a contribution to the Surgeons of Gaza event in Bradford, which supports UK surgeons with medical aid costs for refugees.

Asma Iqbal, partner at Chadwick Lawrence, said: “Ramadan is a time of reflection, generosity and community. I am incredibly proud that Chadwick Lawrence continues to support meaningful initiatives that make a tangible difference to vulnerable people both locally and internationally during this holy month.”

Previous Chadwick Lawrence Charity Iftars have raised invaluable funds to support refugees, such as those from the Turkey and Syria Earthquake in 2023.
