The EY Foundation is an independent charity that brings young people and employers together to deliver high-quality employability skills training, paid work experience and mentoring, with the ambition to provide young people from low-income backgrounds with equitable opportunities to access employment. The Foundation are keen to work with local stakeholders across the Bradford district to co-design and develop a place-based work experience initiative in the 2025/26 academic year. This project aims to complement existing provision, and ensure all young people have access to high quality work experience at key points in their education.
In Autumn 2024, the EY Foundation drafted a ‘Theory of Change’ with local stakeholders, where the importance of hearing perspectives from a variety of businesses, from small and medium-sized enterprises to large organisations, was a key topic raised. For the next phase of their work, the Foundation are keen to speak to local businesses to hear different perspectives on engaging with work experience, with a particular focus on early careers education.
