From AI to lego play, startups to expansion overseas, York Business Festival offers something for everyone in the region’s business community

Business leaders, entrepreneurs and industry experts set to gather for week of events at York St John University

An expanded and ambitious York Business Festival returns next week with a packed, week-long programme of events. The Festival aims to support, connect and celebrate the region’s business community through a series of talks, workshops, advice clinics, multimedia events and networking opportunities.

Beginning with the UK’s Small Business Commissioner as keynote speaker, and taking place during Budget week with up to date reaction events on offer, the programme offers a wide range of dynamic insights and expertise to empower entrepreneurs to thrive.

York Business Festival is delivered by York Business School at York St John University and runs from Monday 24 November to Friday 28 November with events across the University’s main campus on Lord Mayor’s Walk.

The launch event on Monday will see keynote speeches from Emma Jones, UK Small Business Commissioner and Clare Bailey, The Retail Champion, alongside an opening address from David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire. The week continues with 3 themed days: Finance Tuesday, Innovation Wednesday and Digital Thursday, then rounds off with a Budget Business Brunch on the Friday.

David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire said:

“The York Business Festival is a great celebration of the people and businesses that make our region thrive.

“It’s about coming together, sharing ideas, building new connections and creating opportunities for growth.

“There’s a real buzz around York and North Yorkshire right now – this festival shows the pride, talent and ambition that make this such a fantastic place to do business.”

Professor Brendan Paddison, Dean of York Business School said:

“York Business Festival is a celebration of innovation, partnership, and opportunity. By bringing together local businesses, students, and community partners, we’re not just exploring ideas, we’re building the future of our region. Together, we can drive sustainable growth and shape a stronger regional economy.

“I encourage businesses to take a day few days out of the office, to attend, engage, and be inspired by the energy and creativity within our community. Our students are the entrepreneurs and leaders of tomorrow, and by working hand in hand with our business community today, we’re creating opportunities that drive growth, resilience, and lasting impact for everyone.
“Thanks to all our partners and supporters who are making this festival possible.”
