Mental health campaigner leads business summit on resilience

An award-winning mental health campaigner will be among the speakers at an MBA Summit on resilience held at the University of Bradford. 

Luke Ambler, co-founder of Andy’s Man Club, will discuss how to instil resilience in individuals, their career and their workplace at the University’s MBA Summit held on Friday 21 November. 

The Summit’s theme is resilience with business leaders speaking on how it can help people become better leaders, overcome volatile markets and industry in business and how different types of resiliencies can drive a career, organisation and business forward. 

Dr Suzanne Smit, the University’s MBA Programme Leader, said: “We are delighted to welcome our broad range of businesspeople to the University for our third MBA Summit. 

“Resilience is a crucial part of everyday life, and business is no exception. We look forward to hearing the experiences of our exceptional line-up of speakers, which I’m sure our attendees will take inspiration from to adapt to their own lives.”

The event, held between 09:30 and 17:00, gives attendees the chance to learn new skills, share knowledge and network with the University’s MBA and School of Management community. It is open to business leaders, and current students, alumni and academics from the University of Bradford.

MBA Summit speakers 

Dr Kamran Mahroof, Associate Professor in Supply Chain Analytics at the University of Bradford, will lead a panel discussion on Artificial Intelligence (AI) efficiency and how to deploy AI daily in business. 

Martin Allison, Director at Rosedale Advisory, an independent corporate finance advisor to UK firms, will talk on rejuvenating businesses, financial resilience, and the importance of staying adaptable.  

Cheryl Lynch, Senior Director of Agile Transformation for digital communications technology firm, Cisco, will use science, technology and human psychology to discuss what resilience is and how it is important for our professional and personal lives. 

Tushar Hasra, Founder and Chief Technology Officer of EpitomiOne, will close the event with the annual Management lecture. ‘Innovation with Love – How to Create Sustainable Innovation’, discusses his view that effective innovation starts from encouraging people to love what they do and building the right conditions for creativity.  

Luke Ambler co-founded Andy’s Man Club in 2016, which has since become a national men’s mental health movement, with more than 4,500 men meeting at more than 190 support groups across the UK every Monday, apart from bank holidays, at 7pm.  

The former Leeds Rhinos rugby league player was given an Outstanding Contribution Award by the University of Bradford in 2024 in recognition of his work with Andy’s Man Club.
