ONE YEAR SINCE ANDY’S MAN CLUB CAME TO ODSAL

Tuesday 12th September marked one year since Odsal Stadium opened its doors to Andy’s Man Club’s Bradford South Group!

ANDYSMANCLUB are a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online.

Monday 12th September 2022 saw the first session held at the home of the Bradford Bulls, who have worked closely with the Bradford South group ever since.

892 men have come through the doors to talk, with 105 new people joining the group. 42 sessions have been held since that opening date, with an average of 25 men per night attending, with that number continuing to grow.

Jamie Emsley, facilitator at Andy’s Man Club (Bradford South) said:

“Being from the local area and seeing this club grow from 11 men on our opening night, to getting 30+ men walking through the doors every Monday night proves how much it was needed in this part of Bradford. If you are a man going through a storm, come down and have a brew and chat.”

Ian Stafford, Commercial Director at Bradford Bulls said:

“Ever since we opened our doors to Andy’s Man Club, I have been immensely proud not only of the role the Bradford Bulls have playing in supporting vulnerable males in our area, but also the facilitators and volunteers at Andy’s Man Club like Jamie.

“The number of men we have been able to help and support just by providing a safe environment is extremely humbling.

“We work very closely with Andy’s Man Club to ensure we use our scale to help those in need, and I look forward to developing this relationship across the coming weeks and months.”
