Still supporting Bradford Manufacturing Weeks in its 6th year!

We were delighted to open our doors to local Bradford students for the sixth year running for Bradford Manufacturing Weeks 2024. As an inaugural supporter of the event, we feel passionately about educating students as to what manufacturing and engineering can offer as a career choice and in the local area too!

This year we engaged with a diverse cross section of education providers in the area, ensuring that all students can access this type of external visit, which we deem as essential to their development. We engaged with 6 different schools and colleges with around 50 students participating.  One education provider was unable to arrange a convenient time to visit so we took the presentation to their site which was really well received.

As well as an overview about who we are and what we do, we showed the students our manufacturing plant and workshop and focused on the wide range of machines we design and manufacture and the technology we use. Due to support from suppliers we were able to demonstrate laser marking and vision sensor and inspection equipment as well as CNC machining capabilities of our workshop.

We also talked about entry into engineering as a career with particular focus on our commitment as a business to the apprentice route. Our current apprentices and newly qualified apprentices were on hand to talk to students about their experiences and the benefits of taking an apprenticeship.

Tony Hubbert, Managing Director at TF commented, “We were delighted to be able to get students back on site again this year. Nothing really beats being able to engage with students face -to-face and for them to actually see the working environment and what’s involved.  It was great to have a combination of schools who have visited us year after year and also to welcome schools who had not visited us before. – the feedback from all has been fantastic!”
