TEDx Leeds Beckett University hosts ‘Our Changing World’ on Wednesday 22 November
The questions posed by an ever-evolving world will be answered through a series of talks at the TEDx Leeds Beckett University event.
Four speakers from the university are set to deliver impactful talks centred around the theme of ‘Our Changing World’ on Wednesday 22 November from 15.00 at The Theatre, Leeds School of Arts on Leeds Beckett’s city campus.
Professor Peter Slee, Vice Chancellor of Leeds Beckett University said:

The speakers are:
- Dr Emily Zobel Marshall who will explore the trickster figure in global cultures, discussing their enduring allure and questioning their revolutionary potential and relevance today.
- Lauren Senior who will look at how culturally tailored interventions can improve the nutrition related health of Black African and Black Caribbean migrants and reduce type 2 diabetes and obesity risk.
- Professor David Glew who will be speaking about how retrofitting our homes is the key to net zero and ending fuel poverty in the UK.
- Professor Louisa Ells who will talk about the need to change the narrative around obesity. What have we learned and what mistakes have we made?
Launched in 2009, TEDx is a programme of locally organised events that bring the community together to share a TED-like experience. Some of the best talks from TEDx events have gone on to be featured on TED.com and garnered millions of views from audiences across the globe.
