Travel agents celebrated at special bingo bonanza event at Teesside
Travel agents across the North East have been celebrated for their outstanding work supporting Teesside Airport at a special bingo bonanza event.
More than 140 agents including retail store members, homeworkers, head office staff and business development managers packed out the celebration at the airport on Thursday evening (10 October).
The event featured bingo, dance-offs, lip-sync battles and marked the first agent event since July 2022 – with representatives from airlines and tour operators including TUI, Balkan Holidays, Newmarket Holidays, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Transun, and Cosmos and Avalon.
Support from travel agents has been fundamental to the airport’s recent success.
This has helped the airport hit its highest summer passenger figures for 15 years with flights to Majorca, Faro, Alicante, Corfu and Amsterdam – with further success in selling out the final Balkan Holidays flights of the summer season to Bourgas.
Phil Forster, Managing Director of Teesside Airport, said: “Travel agents are simply vital to ensuring we fill our flights – and we are hugely grateful for their hard work and support of Teesside Airport. It was great to have such a good turnout and seeing so many people enjoy themselves.
“It’s our goal to make sure agents offer Teesside departures to their customers, and sell our benefits to customers. We cannot thank them enough – but I hope this event reminded our vibrant travel agent industry we always have them in mind, and we like to host a party!”
