Watson Buckle proudly declares Candlelighters as its Charity of the Year
Cancer charity Candlelighters has been selected as the annual charity of Bradford-based accountancy firm, Watson Buckle.
The practice is continuing its long tradition of supporting a single good cause each year by choosing this local charity, which provides emotional, practical and financial support, and hope to families of children with cancer.
Candlelighters does this in several ways, including by investing in vital research to improve the outcomes of children and providing help via The Square.
This family support centre, just around the corner from Leeds Children’s Hospital, gives families access to a range of high-quality support services such as well-being sessions, talking therapies and peer support groups.
Having heard about the excellent work that this charity does to improve the lives of young people with cancer, Watson Buckle decided that Candlelighters would be the ideal recipient of the funds it plans to raise in 2023.
The firm is currently planning several fundraising opportunities during the next 12 months, which it hopes will raise thousands of pounds for this good cause.
Mark Wilcock, Managing Director at Watson Buckle, said: “Candlelighters is a well-known local charity, which does incredible work helping families in Yorkshire that are dealing with the challenges of childhood cancer.
“We can’t wait to get out and about fundraising for this amazing cause over the next 12 months and we hope that many of our clients and the community get behind us to raise as much money as we can.”
