Survive delivers specialist services and trauma-specific interventions to adult survivors of rape, sexual assault and child sexual abuse to help them heal, rebuild and thrive. Our services and interventions include support work, counselling, trauma therapy, EMDR psychotherapy and a helpline.
We help survivors: safely talk about their trauma avoiding re-traumatisation; make sense of trauma symptoms; develop skills and strategies to recognise and respond to triggers or intrusive memories; recognise needs for self-care and emotional self-regulation; and help survivors connect with internal strengths, external resources and build on strategies that help them feel safer and more in control of lives.
Survive is the only specialist sexual violence agency in North Yorkshire accredited by The Survivors’ Trust, meaning we work to National Service Standards for delivery of survivor services. We have track record in reducing psychological distress and trauma symptoms in survivor population.
