UK Sepsis Trust Lunch & Learn Event
The UK Sepsis Trust would like to invite you to a lunch to learn more about sepsis, and how you can raise awareness within your organisation.
Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that occurs when the body’s response to infection causes damage to its own tissues and organs. It affects millions of people worldwide every year and can lead to death or disability. Five people die from sepsis every hour in the UK, 120 every day and 48,000 every year – that’s more than bowel, breast and prostate cancer put together. The shocking fact is that thousands of these deaths are avoidable with more awareness of the early symptoms. I sadly lost my father, very suddenly, to sepsis just over seven years ago.
The lunch will take place on Thursday 30th October, starting at 12.30pm, at Restaurant Bar & Grill, Old Post Office, 3 City Square, Leeds LS1 2ES. The event will feature a delicious three-course meal and speakers from the UK Sepsis Trust both talking about the subtle signs of this dreadful condition and what organisations can do to raise awareness and ultimately save lives.
More importantly, it won’t cost you anything (other than your time and attention), although there will be an optional opportunity to make a small donation to the Trust, should you wish. The lunch is expected to finish by 2pm.
Please RSVP to carolyn.benson@iceland.co.uk by 23/10/2025 and the trust look forward to seeing you, or someone from your organisation, there.
