World Mental Health Day

On World Mental Health Day, UK Mental Health Solutions is calling on organisations across the country to make employee mental health a top priority. This year’s theme, “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right,” highlights the urgent need to ensure that all individuals, including employees, have access to the support and resources they need to thrive.

The Workplace and Mental Health

With one in four people experiencing a mental health problem each year, the workplace has become a critical environment for intervention and support. Stress, burnout, and workplace pressures remain leading contributors to mental ill health. Forward-thinking employers recognise that supporting employee wellbeing is not only a moral duty but also a business imperative.

Our Commitment

At UK Mental Health Solutions, we work alongside employers to provide practical support, training, and resources that foster healthier, more compassionate workplaces. This World Mental Health Day, we are encouraging organisations to:

  • Create open cultures where employees feel safe to talk about mental health without stigma.
  • Provide access to resources such as Employee Assistance Programmes, counselling, and wellbeing workshops.
  • Train managers and leaders to recognise the signs of stress and support their teams effectively.
  • Promote work-life balance and protect employees’ right to disconnect.

A Message from Sally Benson, Director of UK Mental Health Solutions

“Employees are the backbone of every organisation. Investing in their mental health is not optional – it is essential. By creating supportive workplaces, businesses not only help their people flourish but also build resilience, productivity, and long-term success.”

Call to Action

This World Mental Health Day let us go beyond awareness. Let us take action to ensure that every workplace is a safe and supportive space for mental wellbeing.
