MP officially opens brand-new housing development in North Yorkshire
Member of Parliament for York Outer, Luke Charters, has officially unveiled a brand-new housing development in Copmanthorpe.
The constituency MP joined Barratt Homes to celebrate the launch of the 75-home development, named Russet Park. Set to deliver a selection of one to five bedroom properties, the growing community offers house hunters a village retreat only a stone’s throw away from York.
Mr Charters cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the development on Moor Lane and was given an insight into the energy-efficient features of the properties and plans for the new community from Daniel Smith, Managing Director at Barratt Homes Yorkshire East.
Following the eagerly anticipated launch event, the first release of three, four and five bedroom homes are now available to reserve.
Luke Charters MP said: “It was a pleasure to officially open the 75 brand new homes at Russet Park with Barratt Homes. I had a tour of the wonderful show homes and saw some of the measures Barratt Homes has put in place to make the homes energy efficient. This will make a huge difference to the running costs which is fantastic news for families.

“Copmanthorpe is a lovely village, and these new additions will only add to that. The pocket park, orchard area and play park provide a lovely space for families and the wider community.”
Keeping residents close to the characterful York city centre whilst offering a semi-rural setting, Russet Park ensures new home buyers will have all the essentials on the doorstep. Copmanthorpe Primary School is within walking distance for growing families, and a selection of secondary schools and colleges are close to home.
Daniel Smith, Managing Director at Barratt Homes Yorkshire East, said: “We were thrilled to welcome Mr Charters to Russet Park as we launched this brand-new development.
“There has been a high level of interest for the new homes here already, and we’re looking forward to providing a range of opportunities for North Yorkshire house hunters to progress on the property ladder in a sought-after location.”
Russet Park currently has a collection of three, four and five bedroom homes available with prices starting from £365,000.
Anyone interested in the brand-new homes are encouraged to visit the development to discover what’s available and discuss the variety of moving schemes to make the process affordable and convenient with the onsite Sales Advisers.
