North Yorkshire homebuilder sponsors creative arts day with Whitby charity
Barratt and David Wilson Homes sponsors creative arts day for Whitby charity, WHISH.
Barratt and David Wilson Homes sponsored a creative arts day at St. Hilda’s Hub with Whitby charity, WHISH. Nearby Barratt Homes’ Abbey View and David Wilson Homes’ Chaloners Green developments, the charity is a hub for the community, supporting many individuals with hidden impairments.
The day featured a variety of activities, designed to be inclusive for all WHISH members, including cooking sessions, music sessions, an art workshop and an acting workshop led by Colebrook productions.
Steve Bremner, Chairman at WHISH, said: “We are deeply grateful for the support of Barratt and David Wilson Homes to enable children to take part in a range of different group sessions – cooking, art, games and a “play in a day”.
“It has been a great opportunity for WHISH Youth Work staff to work with a variety of activity leaders on these exciting opportunities.”
Founded in 2008, WHISH aims to help reduce social isolation for individuals with hidden impairments by offering exciting, educational and social opportunities. These experiences not only extend to the individual, but also their families.
WHISH offers support to individuals and families with a wide range of hidden impairments including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Downs Syndrome, ADHD and many more.
