Viva Leeds Vegas! Trinity Leeds raises the roof with plans for ‘Sphere’-Style Dome

Leeds looks set to get its own Las Vegas-style ‘Sphere’ complete with dazzling LED rooftop displays, according to exciting new plans unveiled today.

Unlike the revolutionary Las Vegas Sphere, which was a $2.3bn purpose-built arena, ‘T’Yorkshire Sphere’ will be housed on the iconic Trinity Leeds glass-domed roof.

Lighting up the city’s skyline with hundreds of thousands of LEDs, the T’Yorkshire Sphere will be visible from space. As well as offering aerial advertising opportunities to sponsors, shoppers inside Trinity Leeds will be able to watch live events and spectacular displays on the UK’s biggest screen.

A spokesperson for Trinity Leeds said: “We’ve had some incredible displays and artworks on the roof over the years, but we think it’s time that Leeds saw its name in lights.

“Trinity Leeds is known for its big ideas and this one’s no different – the T’Yorkshire Sphere will be truly illuminating.”

Fitted with hundreds of thousands of high-tech LEDs, the roof will become a canvas for live screenings, immersive visuals, animations and larger-than-life digital art.
