Schofield Sweeney records significant growth
Leading West Yorkshire-based commercial law firm Schofield Sweeney has recorded strong growth in its latest financial accounts, with turnover increasing by more than 8% and profits up by almost 12%.
The 175-strong legal firm, which has offices in Bradford and Leeds, credits noteworthy appointments and strong activity levels, particularly across corporate, employment and litigation, for boosting its performance in the financial year ending March 31st 2026.
In accounts filed with Companies House the firm reported turnover of £17.2m, up from £15.9m in the previous year, with profits before members’ remuneration and profit shares at £6.85m.
And Managing Partner Graham Sweeney is confident growth will continue after a strong start to the current financial year. He said: “The last year was a success story for us with really strong results across the board, and specific areas of growth across our corporate, employment and litigation teams. This was driven by several really key appointments, to already excellent team, which introduced increased expertise and enabled us to enhance our offering to clients.
“The corporate team was involved with a number of significant deals throughout the year, which had a positive knock-on effect for other areas of the business, and the team has also enhanced its expertise around consolidation in the financial services sector which has delivered a lot of work.
“It is also pleasing to see that our growth is continuing in the new financial year, with August – usually expected to be one of the quieter months – actually reporting as one of the busiest this year so far.
“Aside from the financial performance 2025/26 was a fabulous year for Schofield Sweeney with a number of awards, increased legal rankings and involvement in events such as Bradford City of Culture. As a business we have always prided ourselves on the strength of our customer service and expertise on the full range of commercial legal matters and that is reflected in our results.”
