58% of A-Levels at The Grammar School at Leeds awarded top grades of A/A*

Students at The Grammar School at Leeds (GSAL) are celebrating after 58% of A-levels were awarded top A/A* grades.

Fifteen pupils achieved at least three A*s, while seven students scored A*s in at least three subjects plus an A* in their Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). This year’s talented cohort includes three footballers of the future, twins heading to the same prestigious university to study the same course and one of the top young mathematicians in the country.

Six GSAL students secured places at Oxbridge to study subjects including medicine, law and philosophy, politics and economics (PPE), while others are heading to Russell Group or Guardian top 30 universities to study a range of courses in arts, humanities, sciences and languages.

Headline achievements include:

● 23% of grades awarded A*

● 58% of grades awarded A* and A

● 87% of grades at A*-B

Michael Hall, Principal at GSAL, said, “We are so proud of this year’s A-level cohort and everything they’ve achieved both academically and personally. I extend my sincere thanks to the colleagues, family and friends who have helped our young people secure these outstanding results.
