Car repair giant expands with new Teesside centre at airport business park
A multiple award-winning vehicle repairer is set to create 25 jobs with the launch of a state-of-the-art facility at Teesside International Airport Business Park – its fifth new centre in 2024.
National firm ABL 1 Touch has been announced as the tenant of the first unit constructed within the £200million Business Park South development, marking a milestone in the park’s growth.
ABL 1 Touch is one of the UK’s leading approved repairers for major insurance companies and vehicle fleet providers, continuing its growth trajectory with a multi-million pound investment into the facility.
The new 25,105 sq ft hub will deliver top-tier vehicle repairs for national insurers, cementing Teesside as the location for the company’s largest site among 26 centres nationwide.
Duncan Taylor, Chief Growth and Technical Officer at ABL 1 Touch, said: “Quality, cost control, and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do. Across the UK, our expert teams combine cutting-edge techniques with eco-friendly practices to deliver efficient repairs that not only restore vehicles but also protect our planet.
“We’re particularly pleased to have reused all pallets from the equipment packaging throughout the fit-out process, exemplifying our commitment to reducing waste and repurposing materials at every opportunity.”
The facility is the first step in the Business Park South’s ambitious development. When fully operational, the 270-acre site will feature 2.8 million sq ft of logistics, distribution, and industrial buildings, creating up to 4,400 jobs.
Teesside Airport Head of Property and Development Victoria Ashby said: “As well as a great place for passengers, we’re developing our airport as a first-choice location for business – so it’s fantastic to see ABL 1 Touch become the tenant at our first unit at Business Park South.
“This is yet another example of how we are delivering jobs and investment for Teesside Airport while also ensuring its long-term financial sustainability.
“We’re not stopping here though, we’ll be working tirelessly to bring more great businesses to our business park, which will ultimately create thousands of well-paid, high-skilled jobs for the people of Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool.”
Nella Pang, Managing Director, Omega RE: “It’s been an absolute privilege to support ABL 1 Touch in their continued expansion across the UK. Future-proofing their business has been at the core of our real estate strategy, ensuring the property aligns seamlessly with their operations and sustainability goals. This new unit not only meets their current needs but provides a scalable solution for their growing business.”
Chris Musgrave, of Teesside Airport Business Park, said: It is great to welcome a major national company such as ABL 1 Touch to Business Park South.
“Teesside Airport Business Park has a huge range of benefits for businesses thanks to its outstanding transport links, Freeport status and modern facilities and we are looking forward to attracting more firms and further significant growth in 2025.”
