Chadwick Lawrence accelerates digital transformation with six-figure investment in AI and cybersecurity
Chadwick Lawrence Solicitors has significantly increased its investment in technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and operational infrastructure, as the Northern law firm continues to grow and reinforce its commitment to client service.
The firm experienced a significant increase in demand in the 2025/26 financial year, opening 18% more matters than the previous period. 56% of these matters represented new instructions.
To cater to these demands, the firm has prioritised reinvesting profits into technology, with a six-figure investment spanning cyber security, case management, digital onboarding systems, client portals and AI adoption. These developments aim to reduce administration, improve communication and provide clients with greater transparency.
A key part of this strategy is upgrading its practice management software from SOS Legal to SOS Innovate. The platform brings together case management, document management and legal accounting, alongside AI-powered tools for legal research, matter analysis and document drafting. 15 internal champions have been appointed to help embed the new system across the business.
The firm has also invested more than £110,000 in Arctic Wolf Managed Detection and Response services, strengthening its cyber security through 24/7 monitoring and specialist threat detection. This builds on its Cyber Essentials Plus certification, which it achieved in 2026 for the fifth year running.
Chadwick Lawrence has also enhanced its digital client services to deliver tangible results. The firm’s bespoke InCase onboarding app achieved a 92% adoption rate in 2025, benefiting more than 4,200 clients with real-time updates. Its commercial debt recovery division, Acclaim, also launched a client portal following more than 500 hours of in-house development, giving clients real-time portfolio visibility and enhanced security.
AI is another focus of the firm’s wider technology strategy. It has an in-house AI Champions group, which is helping identify practical applications across the business, building on an internal Hackathon that generated ideas for potential AI-powered solutions.
The firm is also investing in its people. Hamzah Nadir, who transitioned from the real estate team to IT department, is currently undertaking a Level 4 Apprenticeship in AI and Automation.
Alongside these developments, Chadwick Lawrence has invested more than £24,000 in new HR software, PeopleHR, to streamline routine tasks and support workforce management and engagement.
Dan Bell, Head of IT at Chadwick Lawrence, said: “As the firm continues to grow, it’s important that we invest in the technology, infrastructure and skills needed to support that development.
“Our approach is about more than introducing new systems. We want to make it easier for our people to work efficiently, strengthen the protection of client information and improve the experience we provide. By exploring AI responsibly and investing in modern platforms, we’re building a strong foundation for the future while maintaining the standards of service and client care expected of us.”
The investments form part of Chadwick Lawrence’s ongoing commitment to modernising its operations and embracing new technology to support its people, clients and future growth.
