Connor Wynne pens new deal
Bradford Bulls are delighted to announce Connor Wynne has put pen-to-paper on a new one-year deal to remain with the club until at least the end of the 2027 season.
The 25-year-old has scored 5 tries in 9 appearances so far in his second spell wearing the red, amber and black – having previously featured for the club in 2023.
Wynne was awarded the Boost Drink’s Try of the Month for his sensational second try against St Helens in March – with his early season performances drawing acclaim from the ever-swelling Bradford fanbase.
Connor Wynne, sponsored In Memory of the Trotter Family, said:
“It’s a really good feeling to have signed again, I feel like I have had a good start but I want to push on even more now. There’s plenty more from me to come and it’s really exciting to sign for next year, the hard work continues.
“Pre-season was tough I am not going to lie, there were times when I struggled but it was the reason I am here now because I worked hard, I got fit and I am probably in the best shape I have ever been. The sessions were brutal but we still want the high-intensity sessions and keep knuckling down.
“I was probably the most nervous I’ve ever been coming into the team against Hull FC, it was a good start and I’ve just got to do what I have to do to either get back in the team or keep myself in the team.
“I am really happy here, I was having a little chat with Nobby [Brian Noble] the other day about happiness and when you’re at your happiest you’re playing well so to be able to sign here again has made me even more happy.
“We shocked a few people early on and we’re getting talked about now and we like that but we need to get them wins under our belt again. For next year, it will obviously be another year together as a group and it can bring something more special than what we already have.
“My message to the Bradford fans is keep supporting us, bring as many fans as you can! I will keep doing what I can do and I know the rest of the boys will, we will give 100% every week but we need you there supporting us.”
Kurt Haggerty, who is sponsored by Sandy and Richard Monro, said:
“Connor has been on a really tough journey with us, he came in pre-season and put the hard work in, really knuckled down and his contract is a reward for his pre-season and start to the season.
“It became a choice for Connor, whether he ripped in and earned that spot or took it through an opportunity and overall he’s worked so hard to get the opportunity, keep his shirt then keep performing consistently at Super League level. There’s still things he needs to work on and is working on but I am really happy to have him at the club for another 12 months.
“Retention is key, you’ve got to get the right people around the environment the right people to take on the journey not just on the field but off field as well. It is great to get Connor over the line, who is still at a great age and is extremely coachable and hard working, he is a great fit for the club.”
