Food Industry Training Company Rewards Excellence
Employees of Soreen, BBF, Speedibake and Hilltop Honey were the outstanding delegates receiving this year’s Verner Wheelock Excellence Awards. The annual awards first took place in 2015 to coincide with the food industry training company’s 25th anniversary.
Karen Miles, a Senior QA in the Technical Department of Soreen was awarded the Auditing Student of the Year. Michael Murray, Technical Officer at Hilltop Honey in Powys won the HACCP Award; and Sergei Jegorov, Vendor Assurance Co-ordinator of Speedibake clinched the Food Safety Award. All had participated particularly well in advanced training courses and examinations in their chosen subjects and had been nominated by course tutors.
Sergei was really pleased to have won the award and commented, “This is great! Food Safety Level 4 with Verner Wheelock is one of the best investments I’ve made. The course was intense, full of discussion and insights from their highly experienced tutors.”
The Award for Individual Excellence was presented to Molly Jones, L&D Administrator at BBF in Hull. She said, “I’m really grateful to receive this award. It means a lot as I’m new to the food industry and to my training role. At BBF we always focus on individual excellence, so to get this specific award, is amazing!”
As well as a trophy and certificate, the winners received vouchers for £250 towards their next training courses with Verner Wheelock.
