LNER will be offering free return travel to serving military personnel and veterans who are attending Services of Remembrance across the country.

Those who are attending the Submariners’ Remembrance Service in London on Sunday 3 November, can travel for free on LNER services to London King’s Cross, on either Saturday 2 or Sunday 3 November, returning on Sunday 3 November.

For those attending the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in London on Sunday 10 November, we have extended the dates of travel further. Veterans and serving military personnel can now travel for free on any LNER service to and from London King’s Cross between Friday 8 and Monday 11 November.

Free LNER return travel is also available to those attending services outside of London on Sunday 10 November.

It comes after we recently named an Azuma train in recognition of those who have served and continue to serve. Wrapped in a poppy design, ‘Thank You’ is now travelling the East Coast Main Line as a poignant reminder of those who gave their tomorrow for our today.

At LNER, we have a proud and long-established relationship with the Armed Forces. The close relationship continues to the current day, with ex-service personnel working across every department of our business, from directors to frontline colleagues, cyber security and train drivers.

Lest we forget
