North Yorkshire homebuilder donates power washers to Huntington Cemetery

Five-star homebuilder Barratt Homes has donated power washers to Friends of Huntington Cemetery for the upkeep of the cemetery.

Currently building at Knights Gate on New Lane in Huntington, Barratt Homes have donated power washers to a nearby cemetery. With the cemetery being close to the development, the power washers will be used to generally upkeep the headstones as well as ensuring they are free from dust.

A spokesperson for Friends of Huntington Cemetery, said: “We are extremely grateful to Barratt Homes for their generous donation of power washers. This equipment will make a real difference to the ongoing care and upkeep of the cemetery, helping our volunteers maintain the headstones and surrounding areas with dignity and respect.

“Support like this is invaluable to us, and we would like to thank Barratt Homes for recognising the importance of preserving this historic and much-loved community space.”

Knights Gate is located on the outskirts of York and will offer a variety of one to four bedroom homes. These new, energy efficient homes are ideal for a range of buyers, including first time buyers and families.

Paul Hogan, Sales Director at Barratt Homes Yorkshire East, said: “We are pleased to donate equipment to the Friends of Huntington Cemetery to support the ongoing maintenance of the headstones. Contributing to the local community is important to us and we’re proud to invest in the area for the benefit of its residents.”

Already set in a fantastic location, Knights Gate is surrounded by green, open space and will have new paths linking the development to the nearby Vangarde Shopping Park and the Park and Ride. Barratt Homes will also be contributing £3.5 million towards education, infrastructure and travel to the Huntington area and community.
