Re-form Landscape Architects sponsor ambitious adventurer on her 24,000 mile journey

Chamber member re-form Landscape Architects are supporting a home-grown adventurer as she embarks on one her most ambitious challenges to date…

We are in awe of people who use the natural environment to push themselves to their absolute physical and mental limits, and that’s why we’re proud to be sponsoring an incredible North Yorkshire-based adventurer, Jasmine Harrison – as she aims to single-handedly sail 24,000 miles around the world as part of the first ever Mini Globe Race.

Jasmine, who will be the youngest to take part in the race at aged 25 and one of only two female competitors, will set-off on her adventure this December, joining the qualifying leg in Portugal ahead of the race start in Antigua in February 2025. Over the next 14 months she will travel west about around the world via Panama. As if that isn’t challenging enough – it is also the first ever race using hand-built boats of this scale to circumnavigate the globe.

This isn’t the first endurance feat the Thirsk-born swim teacher has undertaken, having already secured two Guiness World Records; becoming the youngest female to solo row the Atlantic Ocean in 2021, aged 21 and swimming more than 900 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats in 2022, the first female and only third person to achieve it. She has also raised over £30k for environmental and humanitarian charities.

Her previous sporting endeavours have received wide-spread publicity and this race, the first of its kind, is expected to draw international coverage. Jasmine needs to raise funds to help cover the cost of the race – including entry fee, boat repairs, food and fuel – and is looking for more businesses to come on board as sponsors.

She has a range of support packages available, from major brand awareness including the chance to have your logo on her boat – the Numbatou, a Class Globe 580, which was made and sailed by the victor of the 2021 Globe Transat race – through to sponsored social media posts.

Jasmine said: ‘I want to inspire other people, especially young females that anything is possible, from small goals to big adventures, they can do something incredible too.’

Supporters will have regular updates via social media during preparations and during the voyage so everyone can be part of this amazing adventure.  If you’re interested in finding out more, contact Jasmine on contact@jasmine-harrison.com.
