St George’s Crypt joins West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and invites businesses to help change lives across Leeds
St George’s Crypt, one of Leeds’ longest-established charities, is proud to announce its membership of the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce as it looks to build stronger partnerships with businesses across the region.
For more than 90 years, St George’s Crypt has been providing care, compassion and hope to people experiencing homelessness, addiction and social exclusion in Leeds. Through person-centred support, practical action and long-term recovery services, the charity helps individuals rebuild their lives and realise their potential.
As part of its commitment to civic responsibility and community impact, St George’s Crypt is keen to connect with Chamber members who share its vision of creating stronger, more inclusive communities.
Andy Gaskell, Head of Fundraising at St George’s Crypt, said:
“We’re delighted to join the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and become part of such a vibrant business community.
For more than nine decades, St George’s Crypt has been supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our city, and we know that lasting change happens when charities, businesses and local communities work together.
We look forward to building new relationships with Chamber members and exploring opportunities to create meaningful social impact together.”
One of the first opportunities for businesses to get involved is the Leeds Big Sleep 2026, taking place on Thursday 29 October at Headingley Stadium with St George’s Crypt collaborating in partnership with the Leeds Rhinos Foundation. The event, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, invites individuals and corporate teams to spend one night outdoors while raising funds and awareness for people facing homelessness and hardship in Leeds. https://www.stgeorgescrypt.org.uk/how-you-can-help/events/leeds-big-sleep-2026
The charity is encouraging Chamber members to enter teams, provide sponsorship, or explore wider partnership opportunities that deliver real social value while supporting vulnerable people across the city.
“Leeds businesses have always played an important role in supporting their communities,” added Andy. “Whether through fundraising, volunteering, sponsorship or strategic partnerships, there are many ways organisations can make a genuine difference while engaging their employees in a meaningful cause.”
