University of Bradford shines in THE subject rankings

The University of Bradford has achieved strong results in the newly released Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2025, underlining the institution’s growing reputation in key academic areas that also align with its broader success across recent league tables.

Standout subject performances

The latest subject-level data from THE shows Bradford performing particularly well in several strategic disciplines:

These results place Bradford alongside strong national and international peers and reflect the University’s strengths in applied research, industry-engaged teaching and areas of study closely linked to economic growth and societal transformation.

Chiming with wider league‑table momentum

The performance arrives on the back of broader institutional progress, including graduate employability success highlighted in Bradford’s recent announcement that 91% of its graduates are in work or further study.

This combination of high-performing subject areas and strong graduate outcomes reinforces the University’s commitment to real‑world impact and social mobility.

Interim Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bradford Professor Nick Braisby, said: “We are committed to delivering an education that is applied, inclusive and impactful, and this recognition from THE shows that Bradford continues to punch above its weight on the global stage. What’s particularly pleasing about these results is that they align with our broader upward trajectory across league tables and graduate outcomes.”

The bigger picture

Associate Dean for Outreach, Recruitment and Marketing Dr Samantha McLean said: “For applicants, this is an important signal: choosing a degree at Bradford means choosing a university where teaching, research and real‑world impact go hand in hand. These rankings underline the value of a Bradford education. Importantly, many of our courses are accredited by leading industry bodies, which means students gain qualifications that meet professional standards and are recognised by employers.”

Computer science

Professor Savas Konur, Head of School of Computing and Engineering, said: “With demand for digital skills and artificial intelligence rising year on year, our graduates are stepping into a marketplace hungry for their expertise. This ranking highlights the real value of studying computer science and related disciplines including AI, cyber security and software engineering at Bradford, where students gain industry-relevant skills that translate directly into opportunities.”

Business sense

Yvonne Moogan, Director of the University’s School of Management, which holds a coveted ‘Triple Crown’ accreditation and is consistently ranked 1st in the world for value for money for its online MBA by the FT, said: “Our programmes focus on practical, career-ready learning and employers consistently tell us our graduates stand out because of their professionalism and real-world insight. These results show why studying business at Bradford opens doors.”
