West Yorkshire consultancy marks growth with move to Salts Mill

A West Yorkshire technology consultancy is building on more than a decade of growth following its move to Salts Mill in Saltaire, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

True9 Limited, founded in 2014 by Chris Richardson and Martin Taylor, has relocated from Croft Myl in Halifax and is now based at the historic Salts Mill, marking a new chapter for the business.

Over the past 11 years, the company has grown by supporting mid-sized businesses across the UK to improve and modernise the digital platforms they rely on. Its work focuses on helping organisations regain control of complex technology, improve delivery and build more reliable, scalable systems.

The move to Saltaire reflects both that growth and a continued commitment to the region.

Chris Richardson, co-founder of True9, said:

“Salts Mill was built on the idea that how you treat people matters. That still feels relevant to us today, and it’s a big part of why we chose it. It reflects how we want to build our business, helping people and businesses genuinely thrive.”

While now based at Salts Mill, the company continues to operate a flexible, remote-first model. The new space has been designed primarily as a place for collaboration, giving the team a base to come together while maintaining an approach that supports individual ways of working.

In practice, some of the team choose to spend time in the office each week, while others remain fully remote.

Alongside its relocation, True9 has continued to invest in both its brand and its people. The business recently marked its 10-year milestone with the launch of a refreshed brand identity and website, reflecting its evolution and future direction.

Recent months have also seen the company strengthen its leadership and delivery capability, including the appointment of Chris Nicholl as Strategic Growth Director and the promotion of Tabitha Fogarty to Lead Delivery Manager.

Martin Taylor, co-founder of True9, said:

“After more than a decade building the business, moving to Salts Mill felt like the right next step. It gives us a space that better reflects how we work as a team, while still keeping us rooted in West Yorkshire.”

The consultancy works with businesses across sectors including professional services, manufacturing, and beauty and fashion, and has developed long-term relationships with many of its clients, supporting them through ongoing growth and change.

Looking ahead, the company is planning to further expand its team and is currently recruiting for delivery and quality roles, while remaining open to conversations with experienced software engineers.
