The Heart of Yorkshire Education Group is offering two practical Skills Bootcamps designed to help employers upskill their workforce and strengthen organisational capability. Both programmes are delivered face-to-face at Wakefield College, City Centre Campus, and run over 12 weeks.

Skills Bootcamp in Digital Skills (IT Office Skills)

Start Date: Friday, 9 January 2026

Schedule: Fridays, 9am–3pm

This hands-on programme equips participants with essential digital skills for today’s workplace. Learners will master Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, improve file management and cloud storage practices, and gain a solid understanding of cybersecurity and GDPR basics. The course also covers digital communication and presentation skills, ensuring staff can apply tools effectively in real-world tasks.

Ideal for: Employees in administration, coordination, customer service, or digital engagement roles.

Progression: Improved digital confidence and efficiency, plus the opportunity to become a Microsoft Office Specialist with a free licence for self-paced learning.

SME contribution: £337.50 per learner
Large business contribution: £1,012.50 per learner
Fully funded (free) for individuals referring themselves.

Skills Bootcamp in Project Management

Start Date: Tuesday, 6 January 2026

Schedule: Tuesdays, 9am–3pm
This programme provides practical tools and knowledge to plan, deliver, and evaluate projects effectively. Participants will learn project planning and scheduling, risk and resource management, stakeholder communication, budgeting, and evaluation techniques.

Ideal for: Employees or volunteers progressing into team leader or project coordinator roles, or organisations managing projects, grants, and community initiatives.
